James Middleton-Beck BSc (Hons)

James is a proprietor of My Pet Guardians and set up the business while working for Manchester Dogs Home.

From a young age, James has cared for, somewhere in the region of 100+ animals for friends and family and comes with great references.  James has been looking after people's pets for over 10 years and thoroughly enjoys it.

At home, James helps look after his three dogs and takes part in the training of Junior a 3-year-old Collie Cross, Diefa a 2-year-old Husky cross Malamute and Holly a Labrador retriever puppy.

Junior and Diefa were rescued from Manchester Dogs Home.

James and his wife Danielle have a menagerie of animals.  They own three dogs, one rabbits, an iguana, four bearded dragons, a Rankin's dragon, two plated lizards and an axolotl.  Therefore, you can see there is quite a diverse collection, all requiring different environments and dietary needs.

James has been training dogs from the age of 12, his first dog was a German Shepherd called Saxon.

James has 8 GCSEs, 3 A-Levels: Biology, Physics and Chemistry.  James also has a degree in Zoology from Bangor University.

James' Zoology degree covered areas of interest such as; Animal Behaviour, Animal Anatomy and Physiology, Evolution, Fish Biology, Marine and Terrestrial Ecosystems, Herpetology and other interesting topics.

During his time at college, James did work experience at West Midlands Safari Park, and later on in University took on a part-time job there as a carnivore keeper.

James has experience at working at a private boarding kennels in South Staffordshire.

When James finished university, he volunteered as a bat surveyor with one of Manchester's Bat Consultancies.  James still helps in his spare time.

In addition, James took on a full time job at Manchester Dogs Home after leaving university.  He thoroughly enjoyed working with the stray and abandoned dogs and found it to be a worthwhile and rewarding job.

James is training to be a dog trainer, and has taken courses in canine and feline first aid and micro-chipping.

That pretty much sums up James' experience on a very brief scale.

James looks forward to taking on the extra responsibilities this business  brings, and can't wait to meet all the animals he will be looking after.
